What do you do for the club? As the AMSA Advisor I lead and support CSUSB's AMSA chapter when it comes to advice officers and members have. I also share the value for patient advocacy and promote diversity and equity within healthcare.

How did you get into the stem part of CSUSB? I am an alumna from our very own Chemistry department (they are the best!) and as a student services professional I have been able to assist our prehealth students navigate the rigor that is required of them 🥼

What do you hope for this year pertaining to the club? This year I am excited to see more interaction among the members, officers and campus partners so that AMSA can continue to build on the community and lasting friendships that I see students develop through the club. ❤️

What advice do you have for the new or returning members? My favorite peace of advise is to make time to get involved with the club. It's okay if you don't know other members from the club, trust me we are all friendly, welcoming and encouraging people. The officers are planning lots of great events this year and we can't wait to meet you at our next AMSA event!

If you have any CSUSB related questions, I am also more than excited to assist:)

Fun fact: When I'm not in school, you will find me exploring new trails, trying new baking recipes and learning new languages 😊

We are excited Primavera has moved on to another campus but her legacy at CSUSB's AMSA chapter still lives on! :)

What do you do for the club? I am an AMSA faculty advisor along with Maricarmen. 😊 Both of us together work very closely with AMSA regarding career, academic, and personal guidance for students seeking to pursue a career in the medical field.

How did you get into the STEM part of CSUSB? I began my career at CSUSB as a STEM Counselor within the STEM Center (now known as the Science Success Center). My background in advising pre-health majors combined with my experience and a degree in counseling have allowed me to best connect and aid in the development of AMSA students. Now, in my role as a Career Counselor within the Career Center at CSUSB, I incorporate my skills, resources, and expertise to best counsel students of pathways into the medical field.

What do you hope for this year pertaining to the club? I hope we can connect more with AMSA members. I also hope we are able to increase membership by creating intentional relationships with various departments within the campus community.

What advice do you have for the new or returning members? Be intentional and purposeful in connecting with AMSA folks. Maricarmen and I are here for you. We keep in touch with AMSA Alumni because of the strong relationships created during students’ time in AMSA. Please utilize these resources to help guide in your career and academic exploration process. We are excited for new and continuing students of AMSA and look forward to this next academic year!
